Health and Hygiene Inspection 2012

Achieves Top Scores

We are pleased to share that following a routine unannounced health and hygiene inspection on 5th January 2012 we received top marks from Sefton Council.

Alan Richmond General Manager commented ‘We are absolutely delighted to gain top scores on an aspect of our operations we of course take extremely seriously. With the many thousands of visitors to our hotel and food and beverage outlets each year, naturally the safety and hygiene practices we adopt is critically important. I am really pleased the scores achieved reflect the hard work we put in to this on a daily basis. We will always put the safety of our guests as our number one priority without compromising the quality of our food offering’.

North West RICS Tourism and Leisure 2009

The Vincent Hotel in Southport has won the prestigious North West RICS Tourism and Leisure 2009 award. Widely regarded as the region’s property ‘Oscars’, the award recognises inspirational initiatives and developments in property, construction and the environment. Held at Manchester City’s stadium, the Vincent beat off tough competition, including the Midland hotel in Morecambe and the Hard Day’s Night Hotel in Liverpool, to take home the coveted award.

Billionaire Microsoft CEO visits The Vincent

August 2011

Southport named a ‘cool’ place to visit as billionaire Microsoft CEO visits the town
Aug 25 2011 by Rob Pattinson, Visiter Newspaper.

FORGET trendy city bars and the hustle-bustle of London’s chic hotspots – Southport is the new king of cool.
Our town featured in two national newspaper articles about ‘cool’ places to visit last week.

In The Guardian’s ‘cool culture in the country’ guide, Southport’s ‘thriving’ street art scene was praised, with Ben Eine’s Up North graffiti festival artwork name checked as well as the work of Southport Contemporary Arts (SCA).
Meanwhile The Times’ travel piece ‘20 cool places to stay’ saw the town feature in 12th place, courtesy of the ‘fabulous’ pier, bars and restaurants, and a special mention for the ‘geek-chic’ British Lawnmower Museum.
Both articles recommended the ‘stylish’ Vincent Hotel on Lord Street as a place to stay while in the town. And Southport’s ‘cool’ reputation was reinforced when billionaire Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, stayed at the hotel over the weekend during a mini-break in the town.

Anthony Sutcliffe, hotel operations manager at the Vincent, said: “It’s great to see Southport being given some national publicity as a ‘cool’ place to visit and hopefully the hotel has helped contribute to that.

“The likes of Jude Law, Pink, and most recently the CEO of Microsoft have all walked through the doors of the Vincent – making for a full variation of famous people which has helped to promote Southport and make it a stand-out location across the UK.”
